ZAHNER, JR. Francis Anthony
"Frank" Zahner, Jr. 64, passed away January 17,
2009 at his home in Paola, KS. Funeral Mass will
be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday,
January 21, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church,
Paola, KS, with burial
following at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa.
Visitation will be from
6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Bruce
Funeral Home, 712 S
Webster, Spring Hill, KS, 913-592-2244, with a
Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

home.com Frank was born March 1,
1944 in Marietta, GA, to Francis Anthony Zahner,
Sr. and Charlotte Christine
Hugunin Zahner. He graduated from St. Joseph High
School in Shawnee and
served in the US Navy Reserves for five years. He
was a pipe insulator for
Union #27. Frank was also a Golf Club Craftsman
for Kenneth Smith Golf Clubs
in Shawnee, KS. for many years. He lived in Paola
the last 9 years. Frank
fought cancer with humility, acceptance and
patience. His strong Catholic
faith was an inspiration to others. He enjoyed
gardening and fishing. Frank
will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death
by his father. Frank is
survived by his mother Charlotte Zahner of KC, KS;
his son Gregory J. Zahner
of Shawnee, KS; his daughters Kristen M. Doherty
of Merriam, KS and
Elizabeth A. Heffernon of Martin City, MO;
siblings Sister Linda Zahner,
Norma Holtmeyer, Christine Schmidt, Rosie Warhurst,
Robert Zahner, Steve
Zahner and Paul Zahner; and eight grandchildren.
