We regret to inform you that our member Justin Dale passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011. He was a member of the mortuary fund.
Justin Lance Dale, 44, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011, at his home in Burlington.
He was born December 3, 1966, in Sabetha, Kansas, the son of James H. Dale and Marilyn Joy (Murphy) Dale.
In 1967 he moved with his family from Goff, Kansas, to California where they lived until moving to Burling in 1979.
Justin attended the Burlington schools where he was a talented athlete, especially excelling in football. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1985.
Following high school he was offered a full football scholarship to Emporia State University but decided to pursue a job instead.
On April 5, 2986, he and Julie A. Paxson where married at Burlington and they became the parents of three sons. They were later divorced.
During high school Justin was employed at his grandfather's business, Murphy's Grain in Burlington and after school he was employed at Zscheile Motors. In 1989 he began working as a insulator in the Kansas City area and was a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators Union, Local 27, in Kansas City MO.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing softball, working in the yard, and especially attending the activities of his children.
Justin enjoyed being around people and was a friend to all.
His mother, Marilyn Dale, preceded him in death on June 15, 1997. He leaves his sons, Jared Dale and fiance Fallon Free, Emporia, KS, Joel Dale, Fulsom, California and Josh Dale, Burling; his father, Jim Dale and Berta, Burlington, his grandmother, Lucille Pauley, Burlington; his brother, Jay Dale, Topeka, KS; three sisters, Jamie Menard and husband Chris, Burlington, Jan Martin and husband Tim, Burlington, and Jill Leach, Overbrook, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Jones Funeral Home, 801 Garrettson, Burlington, KS. Burial will follow in LeRoy Cemetery at LeRoy, KS.
The family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggest to the "Justin Dale Children Education Fund" and may be sent in care of the Jones Funeral Home.
