1966 graduate of Northeast High School. After graduation, he proudly
served his country as an infantryman in the Vietnam War, earning two
purple hearts. Upon returning, he married Janice Gulick and they had 3
children. He worked for Asbestos Local 27 for more than 20 years, before
retiring in 2002. He went on to marry Ruth Tingle and was by her side as
she battled cancer. She was with him through good times and many hard
times and will be forever appreciated and loved by Mike's family for her
love and care as he fought cancer. He was preceded in death by his
parents Bob and Helen Cox, sister, Patricia Brenner, and infant grandson
Spencer David Bray. Survivors include wife Ruth Cox, her daughters
Carrie and Stacey Tingle, and grandson Damon Hollis. Mike was Dad to
Kristen, Kelley and Michael, Papa to his grandsons Brett Bray and Dalton
Blake Cox, and Big Mike to daughter-in-law Amy Cox and granddaughters
Lyndsey and Sydney Martin. You were friend, uncle, husband, Dad and
grandpa. Thank you so much for your loyalty, for making us laugh, and
most of all for loving us-all the time. We are happy the pain is over
for you and so sad because we will forever miss you. Fond memories and
